Welcome to Chapters Counselling & Training

Chapters is located on the outskirts of the Business Park in Newton Aycliffe. During April and May 2010 we transformed a huge 3000 square foot building into a spacious, fit for purpose counselling and training centre. Through the blood, sweat and tears we have created a beautiful space for our clients, students and visitors to enjoy.

There is free parking so you'll never be late for class because you're driving around in circles looking for a space!

Our centre is roomy and comfortable with everything needed to create a productive, adult and fun space in which to learn. The atmosphere is friendly and positive, and as a private counselling training provider we are not clinical in our approach to the classroom. Instead we believe that the clients and students are the heart of our space and therefore we have a down to earth, relaxed environment where everyone is free and encouraged to be themselves.

Our centre has accessible toilet facilities for disabled clients and students and we also have kitchen facilities (including a fridge, microwaves and a bulging biscuit tin!). Oh...and the kettle rarely gets cold at Chapters!

For our learners we have a great range of resources specifically to meet the range of teaching methods and styles.

We have 3 large classrooms each with laptop and screen, large whiteboards, flipcharts, a large 42" plasma screen for presentations and a dvd player for students to watch themselves practising their skills on the big screen (that always goes down well!). We have a huge collection of creative resources, play-doh, stones, shells, art materials, prompt cards, laptops with wireless internet access, music facilities, educational dvd's and dvd recording equipment. We also have an ever growing collection of counselling related books that students are welcome to sign out and borrow, we currently have around 180 books and piles of professional journals.

It should be noted that we have all worked incredibly hard and have enjoyed some daft moments to help us through the tired times...my husband Peter is the main culprit there...you'll recognise him from his 'moment' with the pencil and nails!!!
