Chapters has proudly delivered CPCAB courses since our creation in 2008. The courses are well structured with clear learning aims and we have excellent guidance from the CPCAB to support us as a centre and our students to achieve qualifications that are highly regarded and recognised in the world of counselling.
We are one of only a handful of CPCAB centres in the North East and are always happy to fly the flag for this vocational route of counselling training that is focussed on keeping the clients at the heart of our work. This ethos fits beautifully with Chapters' beliefs that whilst it is important to have academia in our profession, we are not primarily focussed on that.
It is important to have high standards and we certainly have those, however we put a lot of emphasis on skills and personal development in our training courses and that is one of the things that makes us stand out as training providers - we do support academic growth but really focus on the personal growth and development of our students to enable them to become the very best therapist that they can be with knowledge, passion, ethical judgement, skills, warmth and real compassion for clients.
We deliver our level 2 and 3 courses over 18 weeks each so both can be achieved in one academic year from September to July. Both courses include one Saturday that is a creative skills day. The date for that is always negotiated with the groups individually to ensure attendance.
Please note that we are no longer offering the TC-L4 qualification.
Attendance requirements are set by the CPCAB at a minimum of 80% but we always encourage our students to attend every session if possible as we cover so much each week. We do help by creating a buddy system to support your peer support within the group but it's never the same as being there!
