Sharon is able to offer individual Person-Centred supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors.
She truly passionate about the Person-Centred way of working with clients and this has now extended to her supervisory work with counsellors. With over 14 years worth of experience working with clients, she has a lot of underpinning knowledge to support you in your practise.
During supervision you will be offered the opportunity to explore personal and professional issues that will help you to develop your personal and professional awareness and facilitate your work with clients. By offering the 'core conditions' within the supervisory relationship, you will be provided with a secure space where you can freely explore yourself, your way of working as a counsellor, the highs and lows of your therapeutic work, the difficulties, challenges and the wonderous moments you share with your clients.
As well as using a reflective and educational approach you will also be encouraged to explore the complexities of your own practise so that you are able to develop your own 'internal supervisor' to help you to work more effectively.
Please note that as part of your professional work together Sharon would expect supervisees to be a member of a professional body such as the BACP and to work within their ethical framework for good practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
A word or two from Sharon:
"It is so important that we are able to develop a trusting and secure supervisory relationship so that you get the very best from your sessions and this benefit can then filter through to your clients... be receptive to feedback, accept acknowledgements, be prepared for challenge, enjoy the journey, question yourself, and be yourself. I learn just as much from you so I'll be doing the same!"
